Alden Mcmillion

May 3, 1935 — June 19, 2025

Renick, West Virginia mourns the loss of Alden McMillion, a cherished member of its community, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Thursday, June 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.

Born on May 3, 1935, in Renick, WV, Alden was the son of the late Ruben Rash and Josephine Baldwin McMillion. Alden embodied the spirit of the outdoors and found joy in nature’s bounty throughout his life. Whether it was hunting in every season or casting his line to fish for trout, he embraced the wilderness with passion.

Alden’s dedication to his work was evident in his lifetime roles as a farmer and logger. His efforts contributed not only to his family’s livelihood but also to the fabric of the community. He took pride in serving as a United States Mail carrier—a role that further connected him to the people and places he deeply cared for.

Alden is remembered with love and admiration by many, but his legacy is also carried in the memories of those who came before him. In addition to his parents, Alden was preceded in death by his brothers, William Howard, Charles J., and Harold Gray McMillion, as well as his sister, Inez Bell Brown.

Alden is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-six years, Karan Sue Christian McMillion, who stood by his side through every chapter of his remarkable journey. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. His legacy continues through his sons, Gary McMillion (Annie), and Kevin “Pid” McMillion, as well as his cherished grandchildren— Charles Donelan, Shaelynn Withrow (Charles), Timber McMillion-Grose (Brandon), Reuben McMillion, and Alden Patrick McMillion. The joy Alden brought into their lives is also carried forward by his great-grandchildren, Lyndon Grose and Emilia Withrow. Additionally, his life touched numerous nieces and nephews, who will hold his memory close.
