Alice Katherine Cook

November 8, 1932 — January 5, 2023

Alice Katherine “Kitty” Cook, 90, of White Sulphur Springs passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born November 8, 1932, in Grassy Meadows, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Harrison Harrah and Georgia Edmonia Thomas. Also preceding her in death were her husband Robert Whitman “Bobby” Cook, son George Edward “Eddie” Cook, and sisters Mary “Helen” Holz and Anna “Marie” Babic.

Kitty grew up near Alderson, WV and graduated from Talcott High School. She worked at Burlington Industries in White Sulphur Springs and was a waitress for many years at The Greenbrier.

She had a passion for gardening and cooking. She was known for her generous spirit — always sharing and delivering food and baked goods to family and friends. Her love for animals was unwavering, taking in many cats and dogs throughout her lifetime and inspiring her children and grandchildren to do the same.

Kitty is survived by son Robert L. Cook (Linda), daughters Dreama L. Cook and Audrey D. Mallory, granddaughters Autumn H. Cook, Sarah E. Cook, McKenna K. Mallory, and Emma P. Mallory, grandson Eli B. Mallory, brother Leo “Pete” Harrah, sister Lota Skaggs and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be planned for the spring of 2023.
