Alice Jones

Alice Jones, 73, of Lewisburg passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Roanoke, VA. Born March 27, 1938 in Greenbrier County she was the daughter of the late James and Virginia Harvey Sampson. Alice was a member of the Lewisburg Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jones; brothers, Delbert and Bill; and a sister, Dottie Wolfe. Survivors include her children, Kathy Gardner and husband, Jeff of Roanoke, Ricky Jones and Douglas Jones and wife, Kim all of Baltimore; eight grandchildren, Andrew Jones and wife, Megan, Matthew Jones and wife, Kim, Jared Gardner and wife, Lisa, Timothy Gardner and wife Rebecca,Tabitha Richardson, Charity King and husband, Matt, Benjamin Gardner and Rachel Gardner; eleven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Earl Sampson of Lewisburg, Chester Sampson of Frankford, James Sampson of Arkansas, Fern Bertier and Pat Meredith both of Maryland, Carol Dean of Florida, and Hettie Hancock of Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 28 at the Lewisburg Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Comer, Doug Jones, and Jeff Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Roach Cemetery-Muddy Creek Mountain, Lewisburg.
