Anna May Cannon passed away peacefully March 19, 2021 at the Peyton Hospice House. Anna was born May 4, 1949 in Youngstown Ohio. She grew up in New Castle Pennsylvania. She met and fell in love with an Army soldier by writing letters to him during the Vietnam War. When they met in person, she literally fell head over heels in love with him. They eloped and began their amazing life together in New Castle. Anna and her husband loved horses and raised many during their first years of marriage. They began a new adventure when they started having children. They had three rambunctious boys. Anna and her family moved to West Virginia and here she started enjoying a more adventurous outdoors life. Anna loved to camp, jet ski, and ride 4- wheelers. She enjoyed all outdoor activities while still attempting to keep her three boys under control. Anna was an LPN and worked at Shenandoah Manor and Greenbrier Manor. During retirement years she and her husband became camp hosts at Sherwood Lake. She also loved to travel and was able to explore most of the Southern part of the East Coast. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years John Cannon, Mother Regina Clark, and Father Edgar Clark. Anna is survived by her three sons Johnny Cannon, Tom Cannon and wife Mandy Cannon, and Dean Cannon. Grandchildren Cameron Cannon and fiancé Grace Sealey, Colton Cannon, Peyton Cannon, and Dana Cannon. Also, many other close friends and loved ones that were touched by her love, adventurous spirit and contagious smile. Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Will Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Church Cemetery, Second Creek, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
