Archie Lee Morrison

Archie Lee Morrison, age 84, of Iron Gate, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem. He was born April 12, 1933 in Renick, West Virginia to the late Ottie and Vernie Cochran Morrison. He served in the United States Army and retired as a molder for Acadia Polymer after 35 years. He loved gardening and working on his collection of old tractors. In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by a son, Johnlee; three daughters, Carolyn, Donna, and BobbiJo; a brother, Raymond; three sisters, Audrey, Mary, and Louise; and two grandsons. He leaves behind a loving wife of sixty years, Nina Morrison of Iron Gate; a son, Charles Morrison and wife Debbie of Iron Gate; four sisters, Stella Reinholt of Lewisburg, WV, Sadie Windon of Clifton Forge, Nellie Farley and husband Herman of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Nancy Liptrap and husband Wayne of Marlinton, WV; four brothers, Harold Morrison and wife Peggy of Hinesville, GA, Calvin Morrison and wife Anna of Caldwell, WV, James Morrison and wife Gloria of Renick, WV, and Robert Morrison and wife Julie of Renick, WV; three grandsons, David Morrison and wife Ada of Iron Gate, Scottie Kimberlin of Hot Springs, and Lee Morrison of Iron Gate; a granddaughter, Kimberly Cooper of Clifton Forge; several great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and his close friends, Ray and Glenna Johnson of Iron Gate. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Ralph Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. A second funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Morgan Funeral Home, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, West Virginia with interment to follow in Morningside Cemetery, Renick, West Virginia. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside.
