Arnold Lee Dowdy, Jr.

A. Lee Dowdy, Jr., 68, of Fairlea, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Lee was born on February 24, 1958 in Cheverly, Maryland. He is the son of the late Adonna Lorraine and Arnold Lee Dowdy, Sr. He moved with his family to West Virginia in 1972.

Lee graduated from Union High School in 1976. After graduating, Lee worked for BF Goodrich, outside of Union, WV, for several years. Following that, he worked for Bill Lewis Chevrolet, as a car salesman, in Lewisburg, WV, until his retirement. He continued to manage his real estate properties until his passing. Lee was a Private Pilot and had a lifelong love of aviation and NASCAR.

In addition, to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his half-sister, Susan Hunter of Vero Beach, FL.

Lee is survived by his brother; John Dowdy (Regina) of Maxwelton, WV, half-siblings; Perry Dowdy of Alderson, WV and Faith Bange of Davidsonville, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Lee's wish to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
