Barbara G. May

Barbara May, 60, of Lewisburg went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 11, 2016. She passed on gently with family around her, singing to her. Born March 4, 1956 at Ronceverte she was the daughter of the late James Hurd and Polly Porterfield Jones. Barbara was a proud mother and Nana who loved her daughter and grandbabies fiercely. Needlepoint and Reading were her favorite pass times. She loved Steeler football and was a proud Mountaineer.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Cooper and husband, Joseph; three grandbabies, Colton, Allison, and Abram; beloved family members, Mary Ellen Morgan and Judy and Errol Morgan; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; two half- sisters and two step-sisters .Services were held 2:30 PM Sunday August 14, 2016 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Mark Gillenwater officiating. She was laid to rest at the Salem Cemetery at Organ Cave beside her mother.In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask everyone to make a donation to the Peyton Hospice House 1265 Maplewood Ave. Lewisburg, WV 24901 in memory of Barbara.
