Bernice Etta Fury, age 65, passed from this world and into the glory of heaven on October 30th, 2015 after an extended illness. Bernice made her passing at home, surrounded by the love of her husband and all of her children. Bernice was born on October 29, 1950, in Glace, WV, the daughter of the late Edward Burdle Hoke and Etta Madeline Spence. Bernice married the love of her life, Donald Lee Fury of White Sulphur Springs, WV in July of 1974. Because these two people fell in love, their family grew to include six children, Lisa Nicole Burke, Amy Dawn Bostic, Amanda Marie Ripley, Donald Lee Fury II, Beatrice Etta Fury and Stephen Lee Fury. Their family has continued to grow to include 18 beautiful grandchildren that were the pride and joy of their Mawmaw. Although Bernice worked outside the home for a number of years, being a stay at home Mom and caring for her family always brought her the most happiness. Bernice's unwavering faith and belief in God and the quiet strength and grace with which she faced her illness has been an inspiration to all those around her. Bernice was preceded in death by siblings Hilda Martin, Mildred Alderson, Posie Hoke and Shirley Boggs. She is survived by sisters Louise Feury, Arlene Bunch, Sharron Hoke and brothers Carlos Hoke, Edward Hoke Jr., Marshall Hoke and Jerry Hoke. A memorial service for Bernice will be held at Mapledale Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015.
