(Bill) William Robert Sherwood
August 2, 1961 – July 26, 2025
Bill passed away at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Storrie Brooke Sherwood, and his parents, Bob and Carol Sherwood.
Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jennifer Sherwood; daughter, Caitlyn Sherwood (Chad Willman); granddaughter, Lyric; son, Cameron Sherwood (Taylor), grandson, Asher; brother, Russell Sherwood; nephews, Josh Sherwood (Katie) and Isaac Sherwood; David Bostic (Diane).
In addition to his biological family, Bill is survived by his church family at Edgewood Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and member since its inception in 1989. Previously, Bill was a member of Clifton Presbyterian Church from age four until Edgewood was formed.
Bill was a hard and loyal worker. Not only did he work on the Sherwood Family Farm in Maxwelton all his life, but he also worked for 18 years at Greenbrier Architectural Woodwork and then 14 years at Mott Manufacturing. He appreciated their care and concern during his time away from the job toward the end of his life.
Bill’s children called him Dad and his two grandchildren knew him as Buffalo. Dad hunted and fished with Cameron, took long walks with Storrie, and had many late night snacks with Caitlyn. Buffalo loved watching Lyric collect acorn caps from the driveway and catch lightning bugs in the field; he loved watching Asher snooze in the swing and look up at him as he held him in his arms.
Bill loved to sit on his front porch with Jennifer and listen to the sounds of bull frogs croaking and birds singing. He enjoyed watching the humming birds come to feed and deer grazing in the yard.
Bill liked music – especially old country, and cherished the simple things in life. He considered himself happy and blessed.
