Brenda Sue Ellis

RENICK, WV - Brenda Sue Freeman Ellis, 82, of Renick, WV, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born September 26, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Thornton Freeman and Edith Madeline Reed Powell and her stepfather Fred Powell.

Brenda dedicated nearly thirty years to Goodrich in Pickaway as a Training Coordinator and Supervisor before retiring. Earlier in her career, she worked manufacturing raincoats in Bel Air, MD. She was a faithful attendee of the Band of Hope Baptist Church until recently and enjoyed gardening, playing Rummy and Solitaire, reading, and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Sue Ellis. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Benjamin H. Ellis; son, Benny Ellis (Tabatha); grandchildren, Bryar and Zachary Ellis; and an uncle, Dale Reed (Eleanor).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Brushy Flats Road, Renick, WV.
