Carl Mason Taylor, 75, of Renick, WV passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness while surrounded by his loving wife, Phyllis, pastor Steve and Tonya and friend, Jeanne Agee. Born November 9, 1936 at Renick, he was the son of the late Gladys Keene and Robert Wayne Taylor, Sr. Carl was a long standing member of Renick Baptist Church, being Head Deacon, Trustee, Past Treasurer and was Adult Sunday School Teacher for 28 years. He was agraduate of Renick High Scool , class of 1954 and a US Air Force veteran, serving two years on Okinawa. Carl was retired from Appalachian Electronics with 41 years service as an electronics technician. He is preceded in death by his son Brian Keith Taylor, father and mother-in-law, Randolph and Nina Boyce and brothers, Robert Wayne Taylor Jr. and Joe Early Taylor. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Boyce Taylor of Renick, two brothers, Larry Taylor and Terry Taylor, both of Charlestown, WV; five sisters, Sue Murphy of Mt. Airy, MD, Kay Winkles of Sykesville, MD, Myrtle Fugate of New Port Richie, FL, Linda Keister of Mechanicsburg, PA and Donna Simpler of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law, James H. "Jimmy" Boyce of Canton, OH and a long time good friend, Charlie Tripi. Carl was loved by his family and friends. We will surely miss him. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 17 at Renick Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery at Renick. Visitation with family and friends will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday April 16 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
