Carlton Coats

COVINGTON, VA – Carlton Lee Coats, 47 of Covington, VA passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. Born March 18, 1972 at Newberry, SC, he was the son of the late Jack Herman and Norma Colleene Helmintoller Coats. Carlton worked for Ingevity as a Chemist. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Neva Michele Coats. Survivors include his son, Ryan Coats (Shania), brothers, Jack Kevin Coats (Elizabeth) and Kenneth Brian Coats (Tammy) all of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Kyle Travis Coats of Pearisburg, VA, sister, Sonya Mitchell of Mississippi, grandson, Jack Carter Coats and a grandchild on the way, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Alvon United Methodist Church, Alvon, WV with Pastor Buck Caldwell officiating.
