Carrie Lynn Hoke

Carrie Lynn Hoke, 76, of Glace, WV, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at her home. Born April 10, 1938 in Ronceverte, she was the daughter of the late Gene and Marie Dowdy. She was a retired secretary from Nationwide Insurance. A member of the Glace Chapel, she loved sitting on her porch, taking walks with her dogs and playing her guitar and singing for the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roscoe Hoke; her sons, Keith Hoke(Wilma) of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Kevin Hoke of Glace WV; grandsons; Randel(Jen), Steven and Jesse Hoke, Joseph Jones, Kristopher, and Jacob Hoke; granddaughters; KristinaWillis and Stephanie Cash; six great grandchildren; and brother, Gary K. Dowdy of Flat Mountain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Dowdy; and two sisters, Peggy Gilbert and Jospehine Morgan. The family would like to express their gratitude to her friends and caregivers; Barbara Ford, Lori Massie, Cierra Alderman, Jessica Hoke, Jill Wade and Laura Cole. Also, a special thanks to Hospice and staff for all the love and kindness shown during this time. Services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Glace Chapel with Rev. Ralph Hubbard officiating. Friends may visit with the family prior to the funeral from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the church.
