Cassie Spencer

LEWISBURG, WV – Cassandra Gayle Spencer, 29 of Lewisburg, WV passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, due to injuries sustained in an accident. Born July 25, 1993, in Richmond, VA she was the daughter of the late Jeffrey Coleman and Tanya Spencer.

Cassie graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 2011 and aspired to attend cosmetology school. She was a resilient, hard-working mother, who adored her family and friends. As a mom, Cassie loved her children more than anything in this world. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. As a daughter, she was a bright light, and one of the greatest blessings. As a sister, she was a confidante and a source of unwavering support.

Cassie was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. Her favorite color was yellow, and she enjoyed astrology, fishing, and summer nights. Whenever Cassie saw sunflowers, she felt a sense of joy and hope that lifted her spirits. Cassie’s love for sunflowers reflected her own ability to find beauty and positivity in the world around her. She had a unique way of finding joy even in the most difficult circumstances, but her biggest joy was being a mother.

Her legacy will continue through her boys, Jaden Spencer, Asher Huffman, and Maddox Huffman. She is also survived by stepmother, Lisa Coleman and stepfather, Randell Moody. Siblings include Hunter Coleman, Andy Whitman, Lee Cox, Steven Smoot, Kim Whitman, Karisa Coleman, Somer Allen, and Tiffney Cox.

She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who she adored. Cassie’s playful, carefree spirit will be deeply missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
