CALDWELL, WV- Chan Mason Whitt, Sr. 87 of Caldwell, WV passed away at home surrounded by family on April 10, 2024. Born April 23, 1936, to the late Luther Emmett and Margaret Kilgore Whitt in Stoney Gap, VA. He was proceeded in death by, Son, Chan Mason Whitt Jr., Brother, Warren Whitt, Sisters, Madeline, Wilma, Macel, Ether, and Mildred, Granddaughter Macie Dove, Best Friend Marshall Hoke, and His Dog, Greybouy. Chan was a man who was the best of the best in the pool playing world. He was a self-taught master Billiards player and unsurpassed instructor. The Father and Coach of The Chan Whitt Jr. “The Prince of Pool”, and Priscilla Whitt, 4th best Billiards World Women Championship. Survivors include Daughters, Priscilla “Pris” Whitt Woodrum, Carol “Pink” Whitt-Schingen, Melissa “Beautiful” Whitt, Chancie “Bootsy” Whitt, Dawn “Dawn Dawn” Christa Whitt, Gereta “Gigi’ Dove and (Doug), also Lil Melissa Hoke, Mother of his Seven Children, Gereta “Sue” Hampton, Sister, Janice Richards and (John), 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating.
