Charles Withrow

He who hath the Son hath life and he who hath not the Son hath not life. Charles Eugene Withrow, 80, of Lewisburg was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday March 10, 2015 after a long illness. He was at his home on Chestnut Flats. Born at Savannah Lane in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Delmar and Polly Hayes Withrow. Charles was well known for his mechanical skills and in his early years he built race cars and engines for himself and also for Nascar drivers including Richard Petty. He was the owner and operator of Withrow Trucking and was a Real Estate Developer. Being a second generation aviator he enjoyed flying small airplanes from his "cow pasture" airport aka Chestnut Flats International. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Boone Withrow and a brother, Lowell Thomas Withrow. Survivors include one brother, Darrell Withrow of Ripley, six children, Sandra McElwain (Bill) of Lewisburg, Drema Hedrick (Barry) of Lewisburg, Michael Withrow (Sharon) of Lewisburg, Thomas Withrow (Anna) of Frankford, David Withrow (Kim) of Ronceverte, and Shawn Withrow (Kathy) of Lewisburg. Seven grandchildren, Trista Bowles (Dwayne) of Lewisburg, Justin Hedrick (Andi) of Lewisburg, Kaitlin, Aaron, and Gabriella of Ronceverte, Madison and Bailey of Lewisburg and honorary granddaughter, Angel Blankenship of Frankford. Three great grandchildren, Lauren and Abbie Bowels of Lewisburg, Sawyer Hedrick of Lewisburg, and honorary grandson, Braxton Hunt of Frankford. Visitation will be at Rhema Christian Center in Lewisburg from 6-8 PM on Saturday March 14 and funeral services will be Sunday March 15 at 2PM also at Rhema Christian Center with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating. Burial will be at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to Dr. Connie Anderson and to his caregivers, Alice, Thelma, Deborah, Trenda, Tonya, Rebecca, Angel, Marie, and Margaret.
