Clara Dowdy

Clara Dowdy, 99, of Fairlea passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at The Brier Nursing Center in Ronceverte.Born November 2, 1916 at Second Creek she was the daughter of the late Glen and Ella Bostic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dowdy and daughter, Emma Jean Cantrell. Clara is survived by her daughters, Doris West of Fairlea and Betty Mueller of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandsons; two great grandsons; and special son-in-law, Harvey Cantrell of Louisville, KY.A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday March 31, 2016 in the Dowdy Cemetery at Glace with Rev. Howard McDowell officiating.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Peyton Hospice House 1265 Maplewood Ave. Lewisburg, WV 24901.
