David Buster Sharp

LEWISBURG, WV – David Buster Sharp, 89 of Lewisburg, WV passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.  Born June 23, 1931 in Renick, WV he was the son of the late Albina Sharp Kirkpatrick.  His first jobs were as a farm hand in the Renick area and in Hinton.  He worked for many years at the Builder Supply in Lewisburg until its closing.  He did carpentry work all over the county.  David was retired from the Old Stone Presbyterian Church where he worked for many years as custodian.  He also worked for the State Fair of West Virginia for many years.  He loved flea marketing, shooting matches, and watching Nascar where Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver.  He was a former member of the Greenbrier Breakers CB Club, the Moose Lodge and VFW Post 4940.  David was a U.S. Army Veteran where he was a mechanic.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by, his wife of over sixty years, Leatrice Marie Simmons Sharp, a stepson who he considered his son, Pat Simmons and his wife, Midge, brother Desota Sharp, and sisters, Jean Lodge, and Iona Campbell, and his dog Susie who passed in December 2013.

Survivors include two sons, Joe David Sharp of Lewisburg, WV, and John Austin Sharp of Ronceverte, WV, daughter, Jacklyn Sharp Clutter (Todd) of Ronceverte, WV grandchildren, Samantha Crone, Jennifer Marie Miller (C.J.), and David Lee Sharp (Jaimee), great grandchildren, Margaret Marie Miller, Jamie Lee Crone, Chloe, Wesley, and Madelyn Sharp.

There will be two visitations and services.  Visitation for Jacklyn’s family and friends will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2021 with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV.  Visitation for John and Joe’s family and friends will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2021 with a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV.  Burial will be at the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV at 3:00 PM, Friday.  Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net .  Arrangements by Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
