Donald Lee Shafer

CALDWELL, WV – Donald Lee Shafer, 82 of Caldwell, WV passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at CAMC Hospital, Charleston, WV.  Born December 23, 1941, in Caldwell, WV, he was the son of the late Royd and Nina Marie Loudermilk Shafer. Donald was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Caldwell and attended Zions Light Baptist Church. He worked as a Chef at the Greenbrier Hotel before retiring from Alderson FCI as a Food Supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Kimberly, Ronald Lee and Christopher Wayne Shafer and a brother Danny Shafer.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-one years, Deanna Chambers Shafer, daughter, Heather Dawn Graham (Billy), daughter in law, Julie Shafer, sister, Charlotte Lewis, grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Graham and Calah and Adam Shafer (Kendra), great-grandchildren, Haisley and Jameson Shafer.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Baker officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service, Saturday in the McLean Cemetery, Ronceverte, WV.
