Dreama Joy Satterwhite

Dreama Joy Satterwhite, affectionately known as Joy, passed away peacefully at her home in Lewisburg, West Virginia, on April 30, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on October 28, 1933, in Fort Spring, WV, Joy lived a vibrant and loving life marked by her dedication to family and friends and her enduring spirit.

Joy retired from Phillip Morris, where she was respected for her commitment and hard work. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her caring nature, especially towards her family, whom she cherished deeply. Her personality shone through her daily life; she was full of life and vitality, delighting in taking care of her flowers, shopping, and maintaining her home immaculately, creating a warm and welcoming space for all who visited.

She is survived by her sons, Claude Alfred Satterwhite Jr. (Faye) and David D. Satterwhite, along with her daughters, Brenda Morton (Herbert) and Sandy Martin (Steve). Joy also leaves behind her sister, Patty Roth (Fred), as well as nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who held her in great affection.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Mary A. Carter, and her beloved husband, Claude Satterwhite. She was also predeceased by her sisters—Marjorie Fulcher, Anna Bishop, Phyllis Carter, and Joan Massie—and her brothers, James, Harold, Charles, Virgil, Lloyd, Floyd “Frog,” Michael, and Richard Carter.

The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on May 5, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, located at 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV, 24901. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM, with burial following at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Fort Spring, WV..

Joy's life was a testament to the power of love and dedication, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth, care, and vibrancy remains a lasting inspiration to her family and community.
