Edward Blaine Phillips, 86, of Lewisburg passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at his home. Born October 26, 1927 in Greenbrier County, he was the son of the late Edward Thomas Phillips and Thelma J Williams Phillips. Ed graduated from Greenbrier Military School and was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He graduated from WVU with an Engineering Degree and worked briefly for Dupont in Charleston before returning to Lewisburg to work with Capital Finance and then in 1963, he became owner of the Greenbrier Insurance Agency and in 1971 he bought Stuart and Watts Real Estate; Ed was a member and past Exhalted Ruler of the ELKS Lodge and served on the original Greenbrier County Planning Commission. He was married to Marion Collins and is survived by their two children, Edward Blaine Phillips II and his wife, Barbara of Lewisburg and Marilyn Fraser and her husband, Simon of Hilton Head, SC; four grandchildren, Erika Brown of Lewisburg, Andrew Fraser of Nashville, TN, Alex Fraser of Washington, DC and Ben Fraser of Savannah, GA and one great grandson, Landon Brown. He was later married to Andrea McClung McCall. A visitation with friends will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
