Edwin A. McClung of Williamsburg went home to be with our Savior on Monday October 21, 2013, after a short illness. Mr. McClung was born April 26, 1919 in Friars Hill, WV, the son of Edgar M. and Florence M. McClung. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Margaret Thrasher McClung on October 23, 2005, one son, Carl Gene McClung; and one sister, Marguerite Humphries. Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Robert(Bob) of Lewisburg; Ralph of Williamsburg and John(Suzanne) of Clintonville; daughter, Jill of Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law, Pamela(Pam) of Williamsburg; and a special niece who was raised with him, Janice Ford Hatifield of Mt. Morris, PA. He is survived by three grandsons, Coleman(Cole), Travis and Lantry McClung; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Kiana McClung; and two step-grandsons, Terrence and Joshua Acacio. He is survived also by many nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Margaret Thrasher of Newport News, Virginia. He was a member and elder of Frankford Presbyterian Church. He was a retired county school bus driver. He was a farmer and producer of Black Angus cattle, a steward of the land, and conservationist extraordinaire. He was most proud of being named the WV State Conservation Farmer of the Year, a honor he won in 1989. He believed in always returning back to the land more than he took. The McClung family will greet friends at the Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Andrew Chapel Methodist Church in Williamsburg with Dr. Susan Sharp Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
