Faye Shafer

Faye Shafer, 91, of Caldwell passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at home. Born June 24, 1920 at Ronceverte she was the daughter of the late Russell and Emma Masters Morgan. Faye was devoted to her family and church. She was the oldest member of Zion's Light Baptist Church; a member of the Ladies Circle of the church, and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Earl Shafer; sisters and brothers, Gladys Alfred, Helen Morgan, Janet Martin, Ina Poe, Roger Morgan, Wanda Morgan, Vera Armentrout, Charles Morgan, Ida Sue Lin, and Richard Morgan; grandson, Michael Andrew Shafer; great granddaughters, Mikala Smith and Faith Shafer; and daughter-in-law, Doris Shafer. Survivors include her sons, William E. Shafer and wife, Lila of Caldwell, Norman Eugene Shafer and wife, Carol of Lewisburg, and Michael Russell Shafer and wife, Pam of Wayne; six grandchildren, Russ Shafer, Brian Shafer, Montie Shafer, Misty Smith, Tara Barker, and Lindsey Mullis; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Tingler of Covington, GA., and Jewell Johnson of Bluefield, VA., a special niece, Judy Bell of Luray, VA.; and caregivers, Maureen Lucas and Hospice. Funeral services will be 1:00 Pm Monday, June 25 at Zion's Light Baptist Church, Ronceverte, WV with Pastor Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the McLean Cemetery. Friends may call 6-9 PM Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Gideons International P.O.
