Fuller G "Windy" McClung 90, of Spencer, WV ended his earthly journey Friday December 16, 2016 at home following a short illness.Windy was born March 28, 1926 to the late Gertrude Burr McClung and Fuller McClung at Gatewood, WV.He was a devout member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he held many leadership positions over the years. He worked as an airline mechanic, electrician, coal miner, farmer and was a proud World War II veteran. Windy was best known as a master craftsman and for his love of gunsmithing black powder rifles and knowledge of beekeeping. He loved everything about the earth and worked to protect and conserve nature. He mentored many children and young adults. His friends and family loved to hear him spin yarns about his life's adventures and his love for his church and Heavenly Father. He was a true mountain man. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Mary Lillian Monroe McClung, infant daughter Bonnie Alden McClung and son John Monroe McClung. Those left to cherish his memory are his children Thomas Gerald McClung of Spencer, WV, Brenda Lucille and husband David Hover of Preston, Idaho , Dr. Charles Scott and wife Carol McClung of Lewisburg, WV, stepson Charles "CJ" LaFleur of Rainelle, WV, sister Kathleen Stephens of Victorville, California, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.A special thanks to Lori McClung for her loving care over the years.In keeping with his wishes his body has been donated to the Human Gift Registry at The West Virginia School Of Osteopathic Medicine. Memorial Services will will be held Monday December 26, 2016 at 1 PM at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 141 Oak Drive Addition Road, Spencer, WV.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
