Gary Richard Dowdy

WILLIAMSBURG, WV – Gary Richard Dowdy, 39 of Williamsburg, WV passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at his home.  Born December 21, 1981, in Covington, VA he was the son of Dreama Ellen Dowdy Workman and the late Gary Hayes Dowdy.  He worked as a truck driver.  Gary was a U.S. Marine Corp Combat Veteran and had served two terms in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Keith David Dowdy.  Including his mother, survivors are his wife of nineteen years, Christy Ward Dowdy, two sons, Donovan Ward of Lewisburg, WV and Gabriel Dowdy of Williamsburg, WV, grandson, Briar Grayson Shortlidge, brothers, Timothy Wayne Dowdy and Jacob Dean Dowdy of Lewisburg, WV, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Cindy Ward and friend, Chavis Gabbert of Lewisburg, WV.
