Gary Dowdy

LINDSIDE, WV – Gary K. Dowdy, 74 a resident of Springfield Center, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at CAMC- Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV following a long illness. Born December 6, 1946 in Glace, WV he was the son of the late Gene and Marie Webb Dowdy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Dowdy, and sisters, Peggy Gilbert, Josephine Morgan and Carrie Lynn Hoke. Those left to cherish his memory are his nieces, Robin Gilbert of Ohio, Kim Gilbert of North Carolina, Regina Sizemore of West Virginia, nephews, James Morgan, Keith and Kevin Hoke of West Virginia, brother-in-law, Roscoe Hoke of WV, cousins, Shirley Schnyder and Estel McDowell and his family, longtime caregivers, Joe and Barbara Bradley, sixteen great nieces and nephews, twenty-six great nieces and nephews. Per Gary’s request no services will be held at this time. A memorial service will be held later at the Dowdy Cemetery in Glace, WV.
