George Edward "Eddie" Cook, 58, of Morgantown, WV, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016.Born May 26, 1958, in White Sulphur Springs, WV, he was the son of Alice K. Cook and the late Robert W. Cook.George was a 1976 graduate of Greenbrier East High School. He moved to Morgantown to pursue bachelor's degrees in economics and computer science at WVU. He also earned his master's degree in computer science at the university.From 1980 to 2015 he worked at the West Virginia Network (WVNET) in Morgantown. He retired from there in August 2015 after 35 years of employment.Surviving Mr. Cook are his mother Alice K. Cook of White Sulphur Springs; brother Robert L. Cook and wife Linda of Richmond, VA; sister Dreama L. Cook of Lewisburg, WV; sister Audrey D. Mallory of Stewartsville, NJ; niece Autumn H. Cook of Martinsburg, WV; niece Sarah E. Cook of White Sulphur Springs; nieces McKenna K., Emma P., and nephew Eli B. Mallory of Stewartsville, NJ; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.As George was very fond of animals, especially the cats he cared for throughout the years, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Greenbrier County Humane Society.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday December 3, 2016 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Bobby McClintic officiating.
