With Heavy Hearts we announce the passing of George Ray McMahan of Caldwell WV born November 5, 1956, the son of Ira Lee McMahan and Beatrice Juanita McMahan. George went to his eternal home on September 22, 2025, at Bowers Hospice house in Beckley WV after days of being surrounded by his family and friends. George was a beloved father, brother, and friend. His journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended but for the way it was lived, and the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. George was preceded in death by his beloved mother Beatrice McMahan, father Ira McMahan, sisters Barbara Freeny and Wanda Wykle as well as brothers Carl McMahan & Raymond McMahan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved daughter Nichole Linzy (Andrew) of Raleigh County WV, grandson, Parker James Linzy, granddaughter, Peyton Abigail Linzy, brothers Dale McMahan (Jo), Dalford McMahan (Kathy), James “Jimmy” Lee Pierce (Dee), Sisters Georgia McMahan, Ruth Williams, Shirley Springston (Tony), and Delsie Knicely. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special family members, Charity Gregory (Darren), Tony Springston Jr, and Wesley Springston that were more like children to him.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Sunday at the funeral home.
