George Estell Moody Sr.

George Estell Moody Sr., known to his family and friends as "Uncle George" 96, of Asbury passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home. Born December 4, 1916 at Ronceverte he was the son of the late John "Bud" Wallace Moody and Sally Roach Moody. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Margie Hanna Moody; son, George Moody Jr.; friend/caregiver, Odessa Cooper; and son-in-law, Richard "Dickie" Dosier. Survivors include his son, Kenneth Moody Sr., (Shirley); daughters, Emily Estep (Ivan "Buster); and Helen Dosier; grandsons, Ivan "Rocky" Estep Jr., Tony Estep, Mike Estep, Clay Moody, and Kenneth "Kenny" Moody Jr.; granddaughters, Rita Pippin, April Thayer, Cherith Brooks, Sabra Castaneto, and Stephanie Poskin; fifteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; his special caregivers-his "angels"- Shannon Gunder, Kathy Longanacre, Ivan "Buster" Estep Sr., Cherith Brooks, and April Thayer; several nieces and nephews which includes special nephews, Jim Moody and Joe Hanna. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday Jan.28 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastors Kermit Hunter and Jim Conyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Church Cemetery at Asbury. Visitation will be 7to9 PM Sunday Jan. 27 at the funeral Home.
