Gladys May Hefner

Renick, WV – Gladys May Brown Hefner, 86, a lifelong resident of Renick, WV passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Born March 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Austin Maybury Brown and Dorothy Ann Cochran Brown. Gladys was a member of the Renick Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James M. “Jim” Hefner Sr., daughter Lutresia “T.C.” Johnston, daughter in law, Kathy Hefner, sisters, Velma Clevenger, Geraldine Hightower, Minnie Lewis, Sonny, and Junior Brown

Survivors include sons, James Marion Hefner Jr., Jeffrey Hefner and wife Elizabeth Ann, Randell Hefner and wife Christy and Douglas Hefner and wife Jennifer all of Yadkinville, NC, son in law, Don Johnston of Renick, WV, ten grandchildren, Jacob, Devin, Joseph, Andrew, Brittany, Lane, Amanda, Derrick, Jessica, and Morgan, fifteen great grandchildren, brother, Edward Brown and wife Judy of Yadkinville, NC and a sister Mary Altizer of Renick, WV, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Steve Barnette officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Morningside Cemetery, Renick, WV.
