Glenna Jean Dixon

ASBURY, WV – Glenna “Jean” Dixon, 90 of Asbury, WV passed away, Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Stonerise Healthcare Center in Lewisburg, WV after an extended illness. Born July 4, 1932, in Richwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ev and Maymie Lewis Snedegar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Grover S. Dixon, sister Hilda Ray, brother, Etsel Snedegar and an infant sister, Phyllis Snedegar and infant brother, Burl Snedegar.

She is survived by a son, J.R. Dixon (Louise) of Lewisburg, WV, daughter, Debbie Echols (friend, David Ferrell) of Lewisburg, WV, six grandchildren, Ben Dixon (Delilah), Matthew Dixon, J.J. Dixon, Angela Sams (Ed), Jamie Hughes (Laura) and Jonathan Hughes (Katie), six great grandchildren, Isabella Sams, Jacelyn Sams, Caleb Sams, Brody Hughes, Jace Hughes and Raegan Hughes, Many nieces, and nephews.

Jean was a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for many years. She loved to work in the flowers she planted in the yard and tried to have something blooming all summer long.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Jesse Pope, and Pastor George Clarkson officiating.
