Harry Dale Honaker

FRANKFORD, WV – Harry Dale “Blue Goose” Honaker, 68, of Frankford, WV passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. Born July 14, 1949 at Beckley, WV he was the son of the late George Jeffries and Julia Ellen Daniel Honaker. He was retired from the WV Department of Transportation as Superintendent of the Sign Shop. Harry loved hunting. Cold Knob was his favorite vacation spot! He also enjoyed fishing with his good friend since high school, Tom Bobbit. He liked watching the Mountaineers and Steelers and had a passion for gardening. “Blue Goose” was a lifetime member of the Clear Creek Rod and Gun Club, the NRA, Laurel Hill Hunting Club and the Spring Creek Hunting Club. He was loved and will be missed by many. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Rudy Honaker and an infant brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years. Lola M. Stidom Honaker, daughters, Tina Honaker and Tracy Honaker Brownell and son-in-law and close friend, Chad Brownell, four grandchildren, Michael Blankenship (Becca) of Williamsburg, WV, Alice Blankenship (Robert) of Alderson, WV, Clayton Chattin of Renick, WV and Xander Close of Renick, WV, three great grandchildren that put a sparkle in his eyes, Madeline Blankenship, Travis and Lola Dolan, special friend and brother, David (Irene) Honaker of White Sulphur Springs, WV, brother, Roger Honaker of Napoleon, OH, and sister, Lennie (Bobby) Banton of Lewisburg, WV, special uncle George (Janice) Daniel of Beckley, WV, sister in law, Virginia Honaker of Ohio, brother in law, Albert (Beth) Stidom of Frankford, WV. He is also survived by his hunting buddy and best friend, Donnie “Ground Hog” Yates of White Sulphur Springs, WV, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with his nephew, Pastor Jimmy Banton and Pastor Steve Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Morningside Cemetery, Renick, WV. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the funeral home.
