Harvey Washington Mentz Sr.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV – Harvey Washington Mentz Sr., 79, of White Sulphur Springs, WV passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Lewis Gale Alleghany, Low Moor, VA. Born December 8, 1938 at Glace, WV. He was the son of the late Roy Telford Mentz Sr. and Edna Beatrice Bostic Mentz. Harvey attended the Caldwell Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a Logger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Dowdy Mentz in 2005, a son, Harvey Washington Mentz Jr., brothers, Robert, Roy Jr. and Henry Mentz and sisters, Mary Nicely, June McAllister, Glenna Pauley and Martha and Louise Mentz. Survivors include a son, George Mentz of White Sulphur Springs, WV, daughters, Rodena (Roy) Belcher of Caldwell, WV and Junelle (Shaffick) Khan of Cleveland, TN. He has five grandchildren, Chris, Josh and Tyler Khan, Mikahla and Ashton Mentz and a great grandson, Jackson Mentz along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Morgan Funeral Home – 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with Rev. Darrell Ramsey, Rev. Michael Neel and Rev. Donnie Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in the Dowdy Family Cemetery, Glace, WV. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
