Helen Joan Knotts

Helen Joan Bennett Knotts of Lindside, WV went home February, 6, 2013 at The Brier Nursing Center in Ronceverte. Born June 22, 1931 at Harding, WV, she was the daughter of the late Delbert C. and Lula P. Teter Bennett and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Chattin, grandson Travis Loudermilk, sisters, Lillian Bennett, Louise Sponaugle, Doris Hartley and Lois Edwards; brothers, Paul , Lawrence and Richard Bennett and a niece Fay Baker whom her parents raised. She was a homemaker until her children were raised, then she worked and retired from Leggett Dept. Store and after retirement, she worked with her husband training and showing horses. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church of Leivasy and later she and her husband attended Rollynsburg Baptist Church of Talcott, WV. Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 66 years, John L. Knotts Sr. and children, Sandra L. Knotts and daughter, Michelle of Roanoke, VA, John L. (Wanda) Knotts and children J. L. and Ryan of Frankford, Steve Knotts and caregiver Sandra Swartz of Rainelle, WV and Frank (Sue) Knotts of Parkersburg and children, Melisa, Brian and Amy; grandson J. P. Linthicum, son of the late Sharon Knotts Chattin; sister, Wanda Bennett of Belington, WV; special niece, Sue Edwards of Belington; special nephew, Jennings (Agathia) Bennett of Webster Springs, whom her parents raised; special friends Bridget Morrison and son Logan; son-in-law, Eddie Chattin and ten great grandchildren.Service:2:00 PM SundayFebruary 10, 2013Enon Baptist ChurchFrankford, WVVisitation:6 to 8 PM SaturdayFebruary 9, 2013Morgan Funeral Home
