Hershey Cales, 92, of Clintonville passed away Monday evening, November 16, 2015 at The Brier Nursing Center in Ronceverte. Born March 27, 1923 at Ramp, WV he was the son of the late Clyde and Lottie Ballangee Cales. Hershey attended the Sinking Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and taught Sunday School. And he was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII. Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were his wife, Anise Flint Cales; son, Dean; brothers, Eugene, Kenneth, Richard, Roy, Jerry, and Roger; and a sister, Virginia. Hershey is survived by a brother, Jay Cales and wife, Lenore ; sisters, Frances Vaughn and husband, Sam and Clydene Vaughn and husband, Frank; daughter-in-law, Kay Bennett and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Heath Bennett and wife, Nikki, Travis Bennett and wife, Jennifer, and Chris Bennett and wife, Heather; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday November 20, 2015 at the Sinking Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM to time of the service.
