Jack Mcelwain

Andrew Jackson McElwain II, 75, of Farmington, MO passed away April 4th, 2018, at Parkland Hospital in Bonne Terre after a brief illness. He was born April 26, 1942 in Auto, West Virginia to the late Gervace & Lyda McElwain. In addition to his late parents he is preceded in death by his brother Gervace McElwain Jr. and his beloved friend Marcia Shumake. He was a long-time resident of the Farmington, MO area. He was born and raised in Renick, West Virginia where he graduated from Renick High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served a tour of duty on the USS Wasp. He was considered a “Jack” of all trades, but his area of specialty was air conditioning and refrigeration. After retirement from being successfully self-employed for over 20 years, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and listening to blue grass music. He is survived by three children, Andrew J. (Jennifer) McElwain III of Washington, Missouri. Michael McElwain of Farmington, MO and Laura (Mike) Goodwin of Newport, Delaware; five beloved grandchildren, two sisters Lynda (Stephen) Morgan of Warner Robins, Georgia, Karen Patterson of Loudon, Tennessee; one brother William (Sandy) McElwain of Lewisburg, West Virginia. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel – 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
