James J. "Jim" Morgan

RONCEVERTE, WV - James J. Morgan (Jim), 88, of Ronceverte, WV passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. He was born August 15, 1928 to Hunter and Christine Honaker Morgan. Jim retired from The Greenbrier Hotel where he spent many years and made many friends. He loved woodworking and gardening, most of all spending time with his family. He loved going to the flea market and seeing his friends. Jim was a member of the Greenbrier Regular Baptist Church for most of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Jennie, whom he adored. Also, a daughter Rosemary Christine Morgan and a grandson, Thomas O. Zimmerman and two sisters Mary Long and Eleanor McCoy. Survivors include his children, Earl (Pat) Morgan of Ronceverte, Ronnie Morgan of Tennessee, Randy Morgan of Lewisburg, Susie (Bob) Morgan of Ronceverte and Rita (Gary) Allender of Gap Mills, four sisters, Sharon (Richard) Hypes, Geraldine (Sherman) McMillion, Sue Dixon, Norma Reed and one brother, Elwood (Jean) Morgan. Jim was Papaw to 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Greenbrier Regular Baptist Church, Ronceverte, WV with Pastor Tim Dillon and Pastor Dale Elwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery, Ronceverte, WV. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at the church.
