In Memory of Jerry Daniel Linton

March 12, 1947 – August 6, 2025

Jerry Daniel Linton, aged 78, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the White Sulphur Springs Center. Born in Ronceverte, WV, he was the beloved son of the late Coy B. Linton Sr. and Effie Frances Mottesheard Linton.

A proud U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, Jerry served his country with honor. He later retired from West Virginia Power, where he was affectionately known by colleagues as "Mayberry." Jerry was a man of enduring character and kindness, remembered fondly by friends, family, and all who knew him.  Jerry’s life was marked by service, love, and dedication. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Linton; his longtime companion, Elizabeth McGurty; brothers, Marlin Lee Linton (Agnes) and Coy Linton Jr.; and the mother of his children, Janet Marie Hess Linton.

He is survived by his daughter, Angie Linton (Kevin Deitz); daughter of his late companion, Sandra Miller (Lee); sister-in-law, Cora Sue Linton; as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom mourn his loss.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Roger “Wahoo” McDaniel officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Lebanon Cemetery in Pickaway, WV.
