Jonathan "John" Harvey Whanger

Jonathan "John" Harvey Whanger, 77, of Clintonville passed away Thursday November 10, 2016 at his home.Born January 13, 1939 at Ronceverte, John was the son of the late Jessie Jacob Whanger and Viva Madge Coffman Whanger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Whanger. John served in the United States Army and for over thirty years was known to many as the "Subaru man" Survivors include his wife, Ruby Defibaugh Whanger ; five children, A. Jeanie Crookshanks, Barbara Rush, Betty Holliday, Harvey Whanger, and John Robert Whanger; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Phillip Whanger; and sister, Mary Sue Horrocks.Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday November 12, 2016 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Mike Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in the Ketron Cemetery at Ronceverte. Friends may call 6:00PM- 8:00PM on Friday November 11, 2016 at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in Johns memory be made to the charity of your choice.
