Joyce will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor.

Joyce Ann Brown, 55, of Maxwelton, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born September 5, 1971, in Ronceverte, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy Monroe Brown and Alice Joyce Cline Brown.

Joyce will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor. Always ready for a laugh, she lived loudly and proudly. She loved 1980s music and sitcoms, cherished her family, and was quick to defend those she loved. Fearless and kindhearted, Joyce especially enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days with her sisters whenever they had the chance.

Most recently, Joyce worked as a housekeeping supervisor. During her career, she also served as a certified nursing assistant, private caregiver, and food service worker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Farley; sister, Nellie Powell; and brother, Ralph Brown.

Always ready for a laugh, she lived loudly and proudly.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Allison McClure and husband, Daniel; sisters, Oma Richardson and husband, Kenny, Connie Powell, Teresa Eanes, and Shelia Tygrett and husband, Craig; granddaughter, Scarlett McClure; and many dear friends.

In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, she will be cremated. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date at their convenience.
