She was the daughter of the late Manassa T. (M.T.) and Nelverna Lawrence Moss.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ronald F. Hardesty her husband, and her brother, David Moss.

Kay was a member of the Shuck Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of the American Baptist Women.  She managed Fairlea Lanes, while teaching many to bowl from kids to seniors, driving to many tournaments.  She led girl scouts, was a member of the Eastern Star, CEOS, Business and Professional Women’s Club and part of the Red Hats.  Kay owned H & R Block until her retirement in 2001, which she ran with integrity and trust.
