Hope Aliff, 93, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on October 30, 2026, at Lewisburg Healthcare Center, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Born in Sinks Grove, West Virginia in 1933, she was a lifelong resident of WV. She loved to visit new places but her favorite place on earth was her family farm outside of Alderson, WV.
Throughout her life, Hope was devoted and prioritized her family and faith. She was married to Roscoe F. Aliff for over 67 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, dear neighbors and her church family. She is remembered for her loving, fun, generous spirit and for leading a life grounded in her Christian faith.
She was a member of Griffith Creek Baptist Church where she taught children in Sunday School and Awanas for many years.
Her family finds comfort knowing that as her death approached, she was listening to hymns and scripture that she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe F. Aliff; her parents, Jake H. and Iva L. Fleshman; and her siblings, May, June, Annabel, Sadie “Jean”, Rosebud, and Jake.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail Ryan (Melvin) and Tami Saunders; her son, Tim Aliff (Char); her grandchildren, Lee Ryan, Becky Ryan (Jason), Beth Ryan, Kevin Saunders (Nala), and Sam Aliff (Kaylee); and her great-grandchildren, Jack Saunders and Ellie Aliff.
Special recognition to Tim and Jeanne Luce for their years of love, friendship and caregiving. Also, a special thank you to all her friends who faithfully stopped in to visit her and pray for her.
A visitation for Hope will take place Friday, November 6, 2026, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, at Griffith Creek Baptist Church, 384 Griffith Creek Road, Alderson West Virginia. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Randy Burdette officiating.
