Loretta Brown Rapp

Lewisburg, WV – Loretta Laura Brown Rapp, 90 of Lewisburg, WV formerly of Renick, WV, departed this earth on July 21, 2023, at Seneca Trail Healthcare. Frake, Mom & Mawmaw as she was affectionately known by her loved ones was born February 18, 1933, in Frankford, WV to the late John Butler and Ora Lee Jeffries Brown. Loretta was number eight of ten daughters. She graduated from Renick High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart on September 10, 1955. Following their union, she attended West Virginia University and West Virginia Tech at Montgomery prior to Frank joining the US Army.  The pair returned to the family farm in Renick, following Franks service. Loretta took on a new adventure in 1982 when she purchased The Flower House and operated it for twenty-five years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters: Lucille Carstetter (Paul), Lorraine White (Jim), LaVerne Hanifin, Louise McSwain, Lois Atkins (George), sister-in-law: Ruth Richmond Dotson, brothers in law: Robert Rapp, George Skaff, Leonard Baldwin, and Clyde Mellert.

Survivors include a son, Franklin G. “Moe” Rapp (Ellie) of Renick, WV, daughter, Chris Counts (Larry) of Lewisburg, WV, grandchildren, Hunter Feidner (Dan) of Apollo Beach, FL, Devon Cline (Ethan) of Lewisburg, WV and Logan Rapp of Renick, WV, great grandchildren, Bella Feidner, Atlas Feidner and Basil Cline, sisters, Lillian Skaff of Charleston, WV, Layuna Rapp of Renick, WV, Lena Baldwin of Clarence Center, NY and Linda Mellert of Riverview, FL, sister in law, Sue Hamill of Summerfield, FL, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family made at Seneca Trail Healthcare.

Celebration of life will be 7:00 PM, Monday, July 31, 2023, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV, Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
