Louise Arbaugh Highlander

Louise Highlander, 93, of Fort Spring passed away on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at her home. Born April 21, 1921 at Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Price and Mary Ball Arbaugh. Louise was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church at Fort Spring for over fifty years. She worked at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center until she was eighty-six years old, at which time she became a personal care provider to the elderly. Louise had a great love for her family, friends and neighbors. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Highlander. Survivors include her sons, Ernie R. Highlander and wife, Ruth, and Mitchell Highlander and wife, Kathy; four grandchildren, Trish Bragg and husband, Roger, Jennifer Gibson of Crab Orchard, John Highlander and wife, Jessie of Fairmont, and Mary Louise Highlander of Winchester, VA; five great grandchildren, Dustin Bragg, Jack and Megan Gibson, and Garrett and Paige Highlander; a brother, Lloyd Arbaugh of Moses Lake, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday February 14, 2015 at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church at Fort Spring. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens at Lewisburg. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
