Lucy Lee Smithson

ALDERSON, WV – Lucy Lee Lemons Smithson, 93, of Alderson, WV passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at The Brier Nursing and Rehab, Ronceverte, WV. Born December 11, 1924 at Sinks Grove, WV she was the daughter of the late William David and Irene Hedrick Lemons. Mrs. Smithson was a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson, WV. She retired from the Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home – Housekeeping Department and enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Smithson, brother, Roy Lemons and three sisters, Louise Lemons and Hazel Smith of Peterstown, WV and Margaret Cook of Beaver, WV. Survivors include a sister, Virginia Surgeon of Alderson, WV and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with Rev. Mike Smith and Pastor Bill Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the funeral home.
