Margaret Faye Miller

Margaret Faye Miller, 88, of Alderson, West Virginia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Berkshire Rehabilitation Center in Vinton, Virginia. Born December 3, 1924, Margaret lived most of her life at the home where she was born on Hamilton Ridge Road, north of Alderson. She worked in Covington, Virginia for some years at Industrial Rayon also living for that time period in Covington but always considered West Virginia as her only true home. Margaret was the daughter of the late William M. Miller and Hettie K. Miller. She was preceded in death by brothers James C. Miller, Harold W. Miller, Harry E. Miller and sisters, Dorothy M. Walkup and Janet (Barclay) Miller. Margaret was a person who loved the outdoors and considered herself happiest when the weather was warm, the animals were fed and the garden and flowers were growing. She was always ready to help a friend or family member but always hesitant to accept that same help from others, truly an independent spirit at heart. She was blessed with caring friends and neighbors who honored her independence and helped her along the way. Survivors include sister in law Elizabeth (Betty) Miller of Covington, nephew Harry (Steve) Miller and wife Vickie of Hardy, Virginia, niece, Jeannie Miller Burling of Roanoke, Virginia, niece, Janet W. Kahola of Clarksburg, West Virginia and several great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to neighbors and friends Dan Clay, Donnie White, Pastor and wife James and Kathleen Combs, Gladys Williams, Fran Angel, and Hazel Kincaid for their continued support and kindness. Also, special thanks to the staff of Greenbrier Medical Center, Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, Virginia and Berkshire Rehabilitation Center in Vinton, Virginia for their care and comfort over the past few months. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, graveside at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
