Margaret Lee Wykle Williams

Margaret Lee Wykle Williams, aged 89, of Williamsburg, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026. Born on March 20th, 1936, in White Sulphur Springs, WV, she was the beloved daughter of the late Zernie Rose and Bessie Elizabeth Craft Wykle.

Margaret devoted her life to faith and fellowship as a loyal member of the First Baptist Church of Trout. She found joy in gardening, raising chickens, quilting, cooking, and baking—passions she generously shared with family and friends. Her hands nurtured both the earth and the hearts of those around her.

Deeply committed to her community, Margaret was especially active in the Williamsburg Historical Society. Her presence was marked by countless random acts of kindness, always accompanied by her sweet and gentle spirit. She left an indelible mark on all who knew her, embodying warmth and generosity.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Layland Stuart Williams; her infant son, Thomas Williams; and siblings Edward Wykle, Will Wykle, Ilene Cornish, Hubert Wykle, Leonard Wykle, and Kenny Wykle.

Margaret is survived by her loving children: Timothy Williams (Kimberly), Kevin Williams (Chastity), Janice Williams Morgan (Mark Etten), and Sandy Williams Fisher (Windell); siblings Richard Wykle, Lee Wykle(Ann), Dorothy Harbaugh (Jim Miller), Barbara Bostic (Burless), and Linda Carrington; grandchildren Amy, Keri (Ryan), Jessica, Sarah (Rich), Kayla, Emily (Tanner), Kristin, Nick, Nate; six great-grandchildren with two more on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 9th, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Trout, Williamsburg, WV, officiated by Pastor Reginald Berry and Pastor Jimmy Banton. Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at The Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV. Following the service, Margaret will be laid to rest at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Williamsburg, WV.
