Marie Baker

Marie Baker, 87, formerly of Lewisburg, WV passed away in Florida, Friday, October 9, 2020.

A native of Frankford, WV, she was the daughter of William Sanford Spencer and Eula Leone Boggs and moved to Inverness, FL 25 years ago. After raising a family, she obtained her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Greenbrier Valley Hospital for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon W. Baker, in 2005; two children, Robert Baker and Teresa Ogburn. Survivors include five sons; V. David Baker of Mount Dora, FL, Dale D. Baker of Wilson, NC, Douglas A. Baker (Cooper) of Hoschton, GA, Barry D. Baker of Clearwater, FL and Daric G. Baker of Lewisburg, WV; one daughter, Deanna D. Newkirk (Michael) of West Friendship, MD; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Helen Brown of Roanoke, VA; Joyce Callison of Renick, WV; Frances Zink of Ronceverte, WV; and Florence Sellards of Salem, VA; one brother: Gene Boggs of Burgaw, NC.

Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV.  Graveside service will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Ron Miller officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity.  We will be following COVID-19 regulations and request guests wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing.  Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net .  Arrangements by Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
