Mary Madeline Ray

MAXWELTON, WV – Mary Madeline Hudson Ray was born December 8, 1930 and went home to be with the Lord, December 9, 2017. Mary was born in Lincoln County, WV to the late Granville and Leonna Ethel Ruby Hudson, she was married to Ralph H. Ray in 1948. They lived and worked in South Charleston, WV where they raised four daughters, Valerie Ray Lyons (Wayne), Angela Ray, Verna Ray Breaux (Dan) and Anita Ray Kirk (Jim). She was also the mother to her two younger brothers, Orville and Gene Hudson. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Greg, Erin, Alegra and Travis and great grandchildren Celia, Andy, Kade and Bryn, plus dozens of loving nieces and nephews. All enjoyed her remarkable homemaking skills, including cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting. Ralph and Mary retired to Anthony, WV in 1985 where they lived a wonderful life together as members of the Enon Baptist Church. Mary was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel – 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Steve Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Enon Baptist Church, 1440 Frankford Road, Frankford, WV 24938.
