Mary Elizabeth Walker went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea. Mary's life on this side began on June 28, 1924 in Ronceverte, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Martha G. Barbour; husband Forrest Walker; daughter, Maria C. Williams and later companion, Willie Weldon; two grandchildren; brother, William "Billy" Barbour and sister, Bessie Barbour. Mary's spiritual life began at an early age when she became a faithful member of Main Street United Methodist Church where she remained faithful until her illness. She attended Christopher Payne Elementary and Bowling High School. Left to cherish her memory are four children and their spouses, William "Eddie" Walker (Pam) of Beckley, WV, Forrest Walker (Mary) of Marlow Heights, MD, Bessie Ward of Detroit, MI and Bertha Brown (Richard) of Lewisburg; special nephew, David "Mickey" McDonald; sister, Catherine Virginia Robinson of Texas; sister-in-law, Hazel Barbour of Lewisburg; niece, Rosie Hollenhead of Leslie and special friends, Louise Smith and family; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Sadly missed but not forgotten. Mary's homegoing service will be 12:00 PM Monday, November 26, 2012 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Ronceverte with Rev. Ella Dorsey and Rev. Ronald Sherrod officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery at Ronceverte.
